Botswana is fast becoming an exploration hotspot, writes Leon Louw.
Botswana is emerging as one of the favourite places for exploration companies in Africa.
According to Charles Siwawa, CEO of the Botswana Chamber of Mines, more than 1 000 exploration licenses have been issued in the country. The process of being awarded an exploration license in Botswana, takes, on average, about one month, which is much quicker than any other country on the continent.
Siwawa was speaking at the Junior Mining Indaba that was held in Johannesburg on 4 and 5 June.
