Sarama Resources Ltd has reported that its employees and staff are safe and that its activities in Burkina Faso have not been affected in the light of the political unrest experienced in Burkina Faso recently.
Sarama Resources CEO, Andrew Dinning said, “There have been some political machinations in Burkina Faso in recent days that have resulted in the removal of the President, dissolution of the Government and Assembly and seen the military assume power.”
He confirmed the safety of all staff and the continuation of activities, and added, “We have seen operating companies including Endeavour Mining, West African Resources and Fortuna Silver all issue news releases advising that their operating activities are unaffected.
“We continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as and when appropriate.”
Burkina Faso is located in West Africa and is bordered by Mali to the northwest, Niger to the northeast, Benin to the southeast, Togo and Ghana to the south, and the Ivory Coast to the southwest.
