Sibanye-Stillwater’s SA operations received six industry health and safety awards at the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) MineSafe 2024 conference on 8 November 2024, which recognised excellence in safety achieved by the group’s SA PGM and SA gold operations during 2024.
The SAIMM MineSafe conference brings together mining industry players to share their knowledge and work together towards one common purpose – the health and safety of everyone in the industry.
The awards included:
- Year on year safety improvement in gold operations
- 1st place: Kloof operation
- 2nd place Kloof Thuthukani shaft
- 3rd place Driefontein Masakhane, Pitseng and Ya Rona shafts
- Year-on-year safety improvement in processing operations
- 1st place Kloof gold plant
- 2nd place Kroondal Plant
- Leading Practice Adoption award
- Sibanye-Stillwater SA gold operations for best dust leading practice adoption
